They might see some signs of pregnancy, but nothing as positive as the results of a blood or urine test.

NO, the PAP exam is only for checking for the virus. Hormonal test is the most accurate at the very beginning and then as time goes on checking the cervix. They can also do the ultrasound a little later.

no. I have a friend who had a pap exam when she was 4 months pregnant and didn't know she was pregnant they didn't catch it. She was 6 months along before she realized she was pregnant on her own, and it had only been 2 months since her pap exam where the doctor didn't detect it.

Well i dont know if they can tell if you are pregnant through a pap test but i do know that my obgyn determined how many months by doing an examination with his fingers, and sent me to have and ultrasound which confirmed it.

Yes, cause your uterus is swollen. They always do a vaginal exam on your first visit when you are pregnant anyway. The doctor even asked me one time during a pap exam if I had sex that morning! (embarrassing!)

usually when you go in for a PAP, they examine you as well. They look for signs like an enlarged uterus, but that doesn't happen until youre farther along.

No, they can't. They need to give you a blood or urine test.
UGH - there's no need for a thumbs down. I didn't say anything wrong. Just because they might "suspect" pregnancy doesn't mean they can be sure you are pregnant. My goodness people.

Not absolutely - but they might suspect it. When you're pregnant, your cervix's blood vessels dilate and hold more blood, and the cervix looks sort of bluish in color, called "Chadwick's sign". It is a sign of pregnancy, but not one that you can diagnose pregnancy from.
