Was there a thundercats movie that was made but never released? I've heard of a real life movie starring a bunch of B list stars, but not so sure

sorry but no. there was an animated movie that originally appeared in theaters before being aired on TV. (the series that introduced Bengalli, Pumyra, and Lynx-o) there was a brief touring show that featured a bunch of no-name actors in the mid-80's, but I doubt that's what you are talking about.
HOWEVER, there is a plan to make a Thundercats movie, that will be CGI. it is schedule for release in 2010, but this is subject to change.

No, there was a fake movie advertised, even a website made, it said that it would star Mathew McConnaughey as Liono, Ed Harris as Mumm-Ra, Tea Leoni as Cheetara, Wesley Snipes as Panthro and David Carradine as Tygra. It was all a big hoax!!!
That aside, there is going to be a Thundercats movie released in 2010, it will be CGI-animated. Thundercats, hoooo! :-) I can't wait!
