You have already explained Einstien explanation on why we cannot travel faster than the speed of light and while I dont really understand it I accept that what you say as gospel. My question is,If I can see a star that exploded whatever in the early 70s when I was born and sience made it possible for me to instantly transport my self to that location and then instantly transport myself back , would I arrive back in the early 70s and if not why not?

You're seeing the star as it WAS in the 70s, not as it is in the present. The light took 30+ years to arrive at your eyeballs, so if you can instantly travel to that star, it won't be as you see it on earth now because that is as it was in the past. You would transport to the present star - and then transport back to your present earth. You would pass the travelling light from the exploded star as you went back and forth. So, no - you would not transport back in the 70s.

Probably not. When you return it would still be 10:30 am, 10/21/07. The past is the past, there is no temporal "history" trail.

However, I still love those temporal anomaly episodes from stng and stv, like Timeless and All Good Things.

Your premise is correct, but you would still trip over "instant travel." That would involve some form of faster-than-light travel that puts you right back into the same dilemma.

Sorry, but your information is out of date. Light speed is no longer considered the maximum speed possible.

There's still so much we don't know about our universe and the physics that operate within it.
