Well, make the costume extra roomy and fill it with fiberfill batting found at sewing sections of the store in a bag (looks kind of like quit batting/stuffing), When removing it, pull it out to make it more fluffy and fill the costume in it (do the costume so it has a lining and put the cotton batting between the lining and the costume to hold it into place then adjust it so it looks even throughout.

Fiberfill looks like cotton balls kind of here is a picture http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.lylefabrics.com/images/fair-pf12.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.lylefabrics.com/polyfil-premium-polyester-fiberfill-p-2594.html&h=500&w=500&sz=29&hl=en&start=3&um=1&tbnid=-ttqWbbpOIYf7M:&tbnh=130&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dfiberfill%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1B3DVFA_en___US204%26sa%3DN

Make a big stinger on the rear, carry a big jar of honey or make something that looks like a jar and put a big honey word label, or a hive, and put little bees (like from a craft store when the butterflies are) or make some with pom poms and put on wires and put them flying around your head when your antennas are.

To further accessorize it, carry a stuffed animal bee and /or a big storybook about bees. There are so many about bees..I once did a unit on butterflies and bees for a second grade I was teaching and assembled so many books on each topic..it will be best if there is a big bee on the cover. Go to the library and tell the librarian you need several story books on bees and with pictures of bees on the cover for grades k-3 and when can you pick them up..then go through them and pick out what you want.

Also look in pattern books for costume patterns or how to sew it...you could use black masking tape to make the stripes on the yellow fabric or maybe the pattern will show some good ideas.

I have found as one whose kids used to win several costume contests a year (first place most original or most creative) and over $2000 in prizes that the key to winning is the accessories...

You could print one of these pictures in color and (maybe laminate at Kinko) and pin or sew on the back of your costume too.

you might also get some ideas by looking at these bee costumes pictures or websites..

Also you will find ideas here
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1B3DVFA_en___US204&q=bee+costumes&btnG=Search\and they sell accessories here..since the socks are out of stock, you could use yellow socks with black tape or wear black tights..

you could use those peanuts that are used in packaging for something like this http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/frankbeecostume_1969_12122544 which is real poofey

also for accessories
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1B3DVFA_en___US204&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=bee+costumes+accessories&spell=1 but much of this stuff can be made rather than purchased with some ingenuity..

Another thing you could carry to accessorize your costume is a big sunflower or a bouquet of sunflowers..

How old are you? Bumblebee costumes tend to be rather....risque and scandalous. So before I go looking, how covering does this costume need to be and how old are you?

It will hang puffy if you just have way more fabric than your body. Think peasant top--elastic waist with 3 yrs of material up top. But if you want it more perfectly rounded, buy pillow stuffing and stuff between two layers of fabric like a quilt.

Rounded wings, black hose, black mary jane shoes. Yellow outfit--and just like the suggestion for piglet--use black electrical tape to make the stripes. As they are really soft and fuzzy, I'd use fleece. You could go all out and wear a black knit cap with ski goggles on top for your big huge eyes.
