when i open media center i get an error message :
ehshelle.exe - common language runtime debugging services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id= 0x1520 (5408), Thread id= 0x1160 (4528)
Click ok to terminate the program
Click cancel to debug the application.

I've tried everything and I have no idea what it means, has anyone had this before, and if so do you know how to fix it? thanks.

I can't do a system restore, I don't have enough disk space.

Sounds like windows took a crap on ya. Easiest thing to try first is a system restore. Click on start-->help/support--Undo changes to your computer with System Restore - and follow the wizard instructions. If this doesn't work it may take an entire reinstall of windows.

Try using system restore back to an earlier date.

looks like you may not have the latest XP service pack installed (a group of Windows Updates)...
