I was wondering if Prismacolor markers are good to use for manga.
-Are there any better quality markers to buy?
-Also, if you are a manga artist/artist what would be your favorite markers to recieve as a gift?
I'm buying these for a friend as a present, so I am a bit clueless about what to buy. I'm willing to get something pricey for good quality. Thanks :)

There are many ways of finding the infomation you want, and I have included the links you will need to help you. Of course, in addition to this, you can also use the resources at your local library, they are only too happy to help you with your searches and queries.

My collection of markers includes Prismacolor, Design and Pantone brands. With these, and standard office markers, It seems the selections are endless.

If you are giving these as a gift for somone who already HAS a good set of markers, consider getting a set of limited pallet markers, such as a six or eight pack of "Warm Grays", or "Cool Greys," or "Reds" You will never be able to guess which specific colors the artist may "need," but such a set will help an artist round out a usually neglected part of a collection.

I am forever grateful that these were created. I always HATED "wet work," because set up and clean up time ate into my creative time. With markers, clean up was as easy as clicking the cap back on.

Some samples of color marker work can be found at:

Except for the Photshop graphics on the opening page, ALL the graphics were created with markers. (with the exception of the eyes on the "Cat" illustration. The eyes were done in Photoshop.)

I have to confess, that I now do most coloring in the computer. My markers often go weeks and months, collecting dust and cobwebs. My Sharpie markers get the most work out, since they are what I exclusively use for inking.

Tria markers are essentially the same as Prismacolor, but of a higher quality, and they are re-fillable.
