I live in Phila, PA. I don't qualify for Legal Aid as I'm what you would call the "working poor" I'm barely making it as it is yet my current salary puts me out of the realm any "Legal Aid" services.
I share legal and physical custody of my daughter with her Dad. We were never married. This past summer he filed a false report of abuse against me with DHS and my daughter was removed from my home. I finally got her back but this past weekend her Dad missed his weekend with her and he called DHS again with another false report. I need to fight this but don't have the cash and again do my qualify for legal aid. Are there "Pro Bono" lawyer listings anywhere?

Call the local bar association and see if they can refer you to a lawyer who will either work pro bono or (and this is more likely) on a sliding scale. If your ex is using DHS to harass you, you can get a copy of the last false report as well as this one and take them to court as evidence of his behavior. My ex tried to do this to me too. In my case I finally got a restraining order and DHS let him know that another false report would get him prosecuted. I never did get a lawyer, I just went to court and represented myself. That's something else you may want to consider.

Other than legal aid,no listings. You may want to contact a loca college or university with a legal dept for a senior paralegal or law student that can help you do this yourself. It definitely isnt as hard as it seems and who knows once you see how really easy this is, you may just have discovered a new career so you wont be in the working poor. Think about it and good luck

You need to get a phone book and start making phone calls to all the lawyers in there. Tell them what is going on and, don't just talk to the lady up front but to the lawyer himself/herself..Also call legal aid and, see if they have lawyers who can help. Most do....good luck
