With him being an offensive coordinator and having a cocky attitude since he left the Patriots to coach the Whiny Irish, and since Notre Dame has one of the worst offenses in all of football (I have to check the Pee Wee Panthers' numbers in the Piqua, Ohio, Pee Wee Football League -- 7-to-10-year-olds), don't you think it's time the Notre Dame brass and all those cussing priests up in that press box congregate so they can put together a "termination package" to go get someone who knows a little about recruiting and DOESN'T CRY LIKE A TEENAGER WHO JUST GOT HER CELL PHONE TAKEN AWAY FOR A WEEK WHEN HE LOSES A BLUE-CHIPPER STAR ATHLETE TO ANOTHER SCHOOL, and get rid of fatboy head coach Charlie Weis?

Memo to Peter W. Willingham never had a class ranked in the "bottom 50". That is a complete and utter fabrication. His last two classes were ordinary, but they were not that bad. I challenge you to find a reputable recruiting service that rated those classes as 69th or lower. Cite a source and refrain from telling outrageous lies. Fact is, Weis got to pass himself off as an offensive genius with Willingham recruits like Quinn, Smardijza, Stovall, and Walker. If he is such a genius he can make the junior and senior classes into something more than the worst offense in college football.

As a Notre Dame fan, I will admit that Weis does have several issues for the team: Ron Pawlus should not be the QB coach, he was not that good when he played; Our whole defensive line with the exception of Trevor Laws needs to be benched; most of our offense needs to go back to training camp especially when after he hikes, the center falls down and turns around to watch the QB get sacked; and Zibby should not have returned, he is not a play maker, his brain is already in the NFL.

That being said, I do not think Charlie Weis should be fired. I think that he is doing what he can with a bunch of 18-20 year olds. I believe that this is a season where everyone is growing up, including Charlie. He was lucky to walk on to a talented team with Quinn, Jeff and all of the other talented players. He now has a truly rookie team and is learning how to deal with that--albeit not as quickly as some would like.

Rome was not built in a day--give him time before everyone jumps all over his back. As much as I hate "that team up north" people were saying the same thing about Carr and even JoePa a few years ago. Everyone has a few bad seasons.......

I would say yes so far from a statistically point of view, i mean common 2 offensive TD's after 4 games, a negative rush yard after 3 games and now average 33 yards a games rushing after 4. Jimmy Clausen is averaging 76.2 yards passing a games, wow if this is not one of the worst 1A team ever i don't know what teams is. But to called them one of the worst team ever so far is correct, but i think their stats gonna get worst, once they're start playing Purdue, UCLA, B.C and USC, all these team got some great defense especially USC. Jimmy Clausen is getting sacks an average 7 time a game and USC defense will get 10 on him.

He did an interview before the SC game that i guess was meant to be sarcastic, but he came off as an arrogant ****** ! Talking about "oh isnt SC' s whole team hurt, and how he wasnt even thinking of showing up to the game" Real smug like. After a 38-0 @ss whoopin maybe he should have made true on his statement !

No way you got it all wrong. First of all the juniors and seniors on this team are recruits of Ty willingham. and in his last year he had a class ranked in the bottom 50. Charlie on the other hand has had two top 5 recruiting class. For example Jimmy Clausen #1 high school player last year and Armando Allen who was in the top 20. Charlie is one hell of a recruiter and we should let his guys mature and give him one if not two more years to prove himself. lets not forget this year he has a whole bunch of recruits that are five stars coming in. If Charlie stays the irish will win a national championship in the next 10 years maybe even five i have complete confidence that in the next four years he will have a heisman winner also.

Yep and clear the bench of the offense team and hold try outs again.
Those who make the team get a scholarship if they don't keep up send them packing.

When the coaches' have to depend on kids who have their egos fed in high school and keep being fed in college.
Their performance is how we judge the coach.
I think it too much.

College football is about recruiting-get the right players. Now comes the coaching part- which weiss needs to also improve on I would give him a year to improve-every year he improves he stays.
