no, shut down your browser, scan for viruses and malware, then right click your IE desk top icon and select properties, select the advanced tab and down the bottom it has reset button, click on this and follow the prompts, once you have reset your browser, reconfigure your home page and your add ons, then change your passwords, then check your firewall settings.
donot download mozilla firefox, it has more secutity holes in it than a collender.

No you have not been hacked. Must hacker would waste their time just to mess with your IE settings. It more than likely mal-ware or spy-ware.

Uninstalling it and reinstalling will not fix the problem if it mal-ware or spy-ware.

Reformatting the hard drive would fix the problem but it's a lot of work to reinstall everything again.

Look into getting to a a good software firewall.

good luck.

Your browser has been hacked eh? Please tell us how you know that.

You could wipe your hdd & reinstall, reinstall everything. Or you could just update Windows, update & scan with your anti-virus & anti-spywares, & be done with it.

Firefox. simple as that. I've had ZERO problems with firefox

if you've truely been hacked, the safest thing to do is back up all your important docs and media, scan them for virus and reformat.
