I agree. I have found that the best 'preachers' are those that live by the word and not just talk about it. I don't have a problem with him flying to a location but how about his house? His lifestyle, etc, etc. Any time he goes anywhere he's got an entourage of people to clear the way for him and they all have to have transportation too. There are far too many rich stars talking about how we all need to conserver our planet as they wisk about on their jets and ride in their private limos but could afford to actually purchase things like an enviromentally conscious house, using solar or wind power while the rest of the country can't think about it because it's too expensive.

Its a concept known as investment.

See, if you SPEND money on something like stocks or real estate, that might seem like strange thing for a person to do who wants to GET more money. But the idea is that spending a little now will reap big rewards in the future. Its the same with the environment. Gore's plane might use a little fuel, but in the end, its worth it because the work he does promotes the environmental movement to millions of people and that causes a lot more positive change than just having Al stay home.

Most people have no trouble with the concept of investment. Im surprised you dont get it.

While I can accept his flying as there really is no alternative I'd prefer he used commercial air to lessen the impact. I do wonder how he can tell people with a straight face how he wants to protect the environment at times? Isn't His fortune from oil money in the first place? Standard oil I thought . Al is no different from many celebrities in my opinion, it's all about him and the "little people"(that's us) are suckers.

Wo ho!!! someone is jealous he didn't get a Nobel Prize! What did you expect him to do? Hitchhike??? Or maybe hang-glide all over the world and spread his message? Unless you walk everywhere and never accept a ride that uses gas for fuel I think it kinder to be glad that a man so decent is willing to spend his time trying to leave something nicer for generations of people yet to be born. We need people like him and Leo Dicaprio who are wealthy in there own right but are willing to spend the time to help the rest of us become aware of things I wasn't aware of until they took a stand. It was rather sweet of them and I don't think Mr. Gore was only talking to get a Nobel Prize. I am sure he has alot of his own money.

Same reason our so-called President does it.....it's the only way to get from one place to another.

Difference is.....one flies on a jet that's going to the destination anyway with a lot of other people.

What would you have him do, swim?
Just a thought? Keep practicing and maybe soon you can come up with a good one instead of getting your ideas from Fox News.

ok, suppose the entire world cuts energy use by 1%, and that gore is the cause of it. what do you think is the bigger energy save? 1% of world or some fuel? In all he's at least attempting to do more good than harm, to my knowledge.

It would be kind of hard to get around the world on a bicycle, unless he can have years between each appointment. Planes fly by the thousands each day anyway, so I don't see what the big deal is. I think you are a pawn of big business jerks trying to stay as rich as possible by destroying the environment for us and our kids (and grandkids).

Because he is the biggest hypocrite on the planet.

Edit: It is not just the airplanes. Al Gore's house uses about 20 times as much electricity as the average house uses. His house also uses much more than the average house uses in natural gas. He has zero real energy saving measures in this house.
