well i'm a huge fan and i was disappointed by saturday's loss to texas a&m, and i was at the game, i don't know if tom osborne can make an impact on the football team with coach callahan (who dislikes osborne), or if callahan resigns and THEN what'll happen to osborne? will he stay active director? why is the program so frickin' messed up?! so should callahan be fired or what?

Yes he should be fired, NOW!!!!!!!!!! And yes I am a Nebraska fan. I've been a Big Red fan since the sixth grade. Tom Osborne will stay as AD until a new AD is hired, no matter what happens to Billy C. I'm glad Pederson was fired. Now lets send Callahan packing. As far as a new coach is concerned, a lot of people want Bo Pelini. He was a very good defensive coordinator. Just look at the difference between the 2002 and 2003 defenses. He is also undefeated as a head coach 1-0. He would bring excitement to the program again. I also like Turner Gill and think he would make a good coach. He's also my all time favorite Husker.

YES they should fire callahan!! I agree with alot of the other people who have answered this question. Defense is what won national titles. Get back to the Black Shirts defense I loved hearing about. That was Bo Pinelli style defense also. Bring back the tradition of cornhusker football. That is what makes kids play looking up to their idols and saying im not going to let him down today. Go after Bo Pinelli why not give it a shot. Go back to a play book that is not thicker than a physics book. Give Osborne 3 years and I gaurantee Nebraska is back in the top 10 and a elite football progam again. BTW I am not a huskers fan, I just love college football and want to see a good program get back to the way they were and give some competition to OKLA and UT

Callahan and all his cronies need to vacate their locker space. Take all the pathetic recruits they have collected allong the way with them. Right now the entire program is gone. We have to start out from ground zero. Pedersen was the worst thing NU ever did. He was not from NE and had for his only intention to destroy the Huskers football program, which he did ruin. Good riddance to bad rubbish. We would be better off to just ask one of the high schools to play for the huskers, be better than the pathetic talent we have now. Should have said no talent. I'd go so far to say the fans should boycott the stadium, end the sellout streak.

I think Bo Pelini because when frank was fired and he took the part time job for the rest of the season he did really good and sense hes good with D and thats what they really need to get better tunner gill should not be the head coach he could come in and be the QB coach but not head coach.

I am a 62 year old Cornhusker fan, and I am livid at the mess Callaham and company have made of the NU program. Please chuck this west coast moron and his offensive offense and get someone back in there who cares about the team and its reputation! There are high school coaches who could have done better than this incompetent.

They went away from tradition. Plain and simple. They need a nebraska guy coaching nebraska a nebraska style team(ball control and defense, not some west coast offense. Hello, spread option anyone?)

Yes, fire him immediately and hire a flexbone coach from the D-1AA or work a "Submarined" (pun intended) deal with the Naval Academy's coach for next fall.
