He may have helped in making the baby, but you are the one carrying the baby. Therefore, You make the choice on whether or not to continue this pregnancy. If you want to give your child life, then tell him how it is going to be, If he leaves, Then the truth is, he probably never really loved you to begin with and who needs a man like this in their life? I know alot of single moms and they have happy children! Do what is right for you and that child...Dont worry about him, because in the end, you honestly dont need him!

Pretty sure if your engaged, he's your fiancee not your boyfriend, and realize that once you marry (as I am assuming you're planning on) you'll take his last name and then you kid will grow up wondering why he/she's different from mommy and daddy. Doesn't really make sense to me not to give the child a hyphenated name unless you aren't planning on marrying or taking his name. Its Dad's contribution since he doesn't exactly carry the child or anything. Unless you're not sure its his but that's a whole other issue.

I think you should double barrel it. Both my children have my partners last (only because I hate mine) but if I liked it I would have liked it to be double barreled. When my son was born not only did my partner want him to ahve his last name, but he wanted him to have his first name as our sons middle name! We agreed on just the last name.

That happened to my sister, her kid was given the father's last name, but the rest of my family wanted it to be her name, considering she was carrying the kid for 9 months. So, whatever looks best, I guess.

Talk about it... figure out why you want to doublebarrel, and why he's against it. If it's about your name, why not use it as the baby's MIDDLE name? Just something to think about.

I think its most honorable for a child to have the fathers surname. I also think its honorable for the mother to as well.
