Hugging!

Do you know what type of hug to give for every situation?
Or are you just a Bear Hugger for all occasions?

Bobo's art of Hugging:

while it is hard for a panda to control the BHI (bear hug instinct), i still have some hints up my sleeve.

Hug point a:
light hug; used when leaving or uniting with good friends after a while

Hug point b:
comfort hug; used when someone is hurting emotionally (with phys. pain sometimes hugs do not help, but cause more pain)

Hug point c:
protective hug: used to help little kids feel secure after a big kid shoved them off the monkey bars (3rd graders can be cruel)

Hug point d (final):
and finally...bear hug; my natural "type" of hug.

In Hugs 101, I learned many different styles. There are different types of hugs for each occasion depending on the circumstances. For instance, there is the grievers hug. You embrace the person around the neck and bury your head in the shoulder alternating from shoulder to shoulder.
Then, there is the lovers hug, this one is similar except without the grieving and holding the lover more closely to your body!
Just a plain ol' how ya doing buddy hug-- is making sure that chests do not make contact.

If you pass this course -- you can go onto Hugs 102 which includes kissing

Did you know that hugging can actually add years to your life? True stuff! They say getting at least 3 good hugs a day can improve your health and can add up to 10 years to your life. How cool is that? What an easy way to take better care of yourself! I am an extremely loving person so I try to give hugs whenever I can ...

The best part is they're contagious .. just likes smiles. You don't need to be "good" at it or give a certain type of hug for a specific occasion ... just do what comes natural to you and hug away! That will always seem more sincere and benefit both you and the receiver ...

Big bear hugs to you my friend!!! =)

Oh dear this is one thing I am not talented in! I draw, sing, write poems, but this is not my specialty! I wish it was... cos my hugs are the wrong ones all the time and people just stand still when I hug them lol

I give great hug. But since I moved to the east coast I'm finding a response more: "You've got to get over this west coast "touchy-feely" thing!

Yeah I think I've got it down-pat. If I am giving the hug, both arms over, if they are hugging me, both arms under, if it is a neutral-ground sort of hug one arm over, one arm under, and its not a cuddle if it is standing up.
