Are you for real ? The knowledge needed for medical care has typically came from disciplines that Christianity tried to repress, such as science. And MANY scientists are atheists ! Furthermore no religion owns this country. While the majority of people traditionally in the United States were probably Christan, all religions have equal rights. Including the right to medical care.
Lastly, if you believe in Jesus Christ so much then perhaps you should just pray to him, and let the rest of us get medical care.

Using your logic, its the christian believers who should not utilize the health care system. After all, if they believe, Jesus will heal them, not antibiotics or operations. All you have to do is believe right?
I won't even get into the fact that this is a religious country, but that the kind of evangelical Christianity that people are referring to when they say Christian now didn't even exist 250 years ago. Its an outgrowth of a 1930s movement.

first of all I recommend you study orthography a bit more. Secondly should everybody who needs medical care receive it. US is also not a Christian country even though it seems to me sometimes. There is a big base of fanatic and almost fanatic Christians in US. This big group of people is surely having a big influence on the whole country and society. I personally find it very wrong when the American president is referring to god in some of his official speeches. Religion is a private thing which must not be mixed with or influence the official job someone has. Especially not if this job is that of the president of US.

You mean by a christian country that all non christian should be - deported, killed, imprisoned, or forced to believe as you do.
It seems that YOU forgot that the constitution of the United States gives the right of freedom to believe OR NOT to every citizen or person under the protection of law.
You need to realize that you cannot imposr your hatred, bigotry, anger, fear and delusions on other people. Where di anyone say as a fact of law, that the USA is a cristian country and non cristians should per persecuted. You are notohing more than an arrogant, hateful individual who definitely does not follow the comandment that states clearly - Love they Neighbor.
Why don't you start living the life of a christian instead of that of a religious bigot.

I'm not atheist, but I'm not Christian either. And YEAH I should get health care, along with all of my family. It is a HUMAN RIGHT to be healthy, you shouldn't have to believe in a certain book or certain god to have the same rights as conservative Christians. Our country is NOT a "Christian Country", it just happens to be overrun by and controlled by the conservative Christian majority.
There are many other people in this country though, and we shouldn't be lesser than everyone else just because we don't have the same religious views.

Everyone should receive medical care whether they are believers of Jesus Christ or not, as long as they pay the medical insurance premium.
Believers can be healed miraculously by faith in Jesus, but not all who believe get healed. However, some really get healed.
Since atheists are unbelievers, the more reason for them to be covered with medical care, right? It is the only way for them to be cured.
Keeping them alive will allow more time for them to have the opportunity to believe in God and Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. NIV

Just what country is that tomocare?
Yahoo answers is a global community and given that 5/6ths of the world are not Christian and that the USA accounts for less than 5% of the worlds population I'd suggest you shut up as you are in a minority group online these days.

I don't see any reason why...God does not separate people..you may have your reason about religion but then this is talking about being human and to be human you have to be taken cared of..i can't imagine the hospital asking you first if you are a believer or not before admitting you to the hospital or any medical centers..remember they are human too and people are all equal in His eyes............

Atheism simply means "without belief in god(s)". That’s all. Yet the cultural baggage that has obscured this simple concept makes most non-believers play charades, wearing the social assumption that has been projected onto them. Just like we are all presumed heterosexual, we are all presumed theists. And with the social ostracism heaped on the Other, it is just easier to stay in the closet. Or is it? I find closets dark and stuffy, and I do not want to perpetuate the myth that there is something wrong or shameful about me, about atheism, about reason, about critical thinking.

Excuse YOU?
The US was founded on the principle of freedom of religion, or did you just conveniently forget that part of history?
Denying people medical care just because they're not brainwashed like you? How VERY Jesus of you.
A better question would be why is the church, which doesn't pay taxes, getting a free ride from the services that the rest of us taxpayers provide - police, fire department, infrastructure, etc?
If the church and its members want these services then they either have to cough up the taxes, or pray to whatever god they believe in to help them out.
And you're basing your faith on a book that was made up from bits and pieces stolen from other people's religions.
