Is it possible to make trendy clothes/patterns from master patterns?

If so does anyone have any good advice or links in helping me with this.

Thanks in advance!

designers always do this! These patterns are called "blocks" or "slopers" and are the basis for the garment patterns. Drafting and using slopers is an advanced skill, but with time and patience it can be mastered. It's not impossible. To make a basic black sewing pattern, I recommend Donald McCunn's How to Make Sewing Patterns book. It begins with making a basic sloper and then tells how to manipulate the pattern into fashion garments. Don't worry if the pictures look a bit dated, the instructions themselves never go out of style.

In addition, Winifred Aldrich has a series of books entitled Metric Pattern Cutting. These books have all been updated and they are a valuable resource for the pattern maker. These books do NOT have sewing instructions, they assume you are a proficient seamstress already. The Aldrich books are quite current and up to date.

These books are found through a web search of the author's names. The Aldrich books are also available through Amazon.com After you learn how to draft and fit a basic pattern and how to manipulate it, making trendy fashionable clothing is simply a matter of using your own imagination.

You can make trendy clothes by using trendy fabrics and copying the kinds of buttons, zippers and other trim that you see on store-bought clothes. If you want to change the locations of seams it is still doable, but you might find it quicker to use a style pattern that already has the look you're after.

since Master Patterns are basic, of course you can make trendy clothes!! Just look at the catalogues from various companies to see what materiels, buttons, trims etc you need to get to dressup your basic patterns.

Let your imagination be your guide!!

You can get some software for that. It will take the collars, sleeves and stuff that you pick, and "grade" them for your size, meaning the connecting parts will fit together.
