silicon based products can dry out the rubber prematurely, still takes years, but does affect it. So make sure there is little or none in the product....

Given enough time, it will dry out the tires and cause problems with the rubber compounds. However, this would require some overuse and some long lived tires.

Of more immediate concern would be to make sure you us it only on the sidewalls, and not the tread, since it is slick and will reduce the grip until it is worn off.
