Many teen girls develop around 12 or 13 and are physically capable of bearing children. Most boys mature slightly later. Why do *you* think nature prepared their bodies for reproduction at such a young age?

The explanation of why we develop early has to do with our evolutionary process. Shorter lifespans = Younger maturity

The reason why sex at young ages is frowned upon now, is because the way that people are raised today, makes for kids who are just not emotionally ready for such an act. Kids at the ages of 12 or 13 really aren't mature enough to handle sex, as compared to people in their 20's who are somewhat more mature.

because some are stupid and see a child as some sort of pet. Most of my friends became dads at 16-17 years old and they wanted a kid to play with, get a freakin' dog, not a damn kid. there is more than you think you are risking with sex, STD's, Kids and nowadays Age and Fredom which by the wa can change your life in a mere blink of an eye. Don't believe me, ask someone who has kids or a viral infection. These are some issues that have to be stressed on and explained on to teens before they make decisions like that. I had friends that dropped out of school at 14 because they were expecting. Plus althought the human body may be physically ready, it isn't mentally ready, which seperates the men from the boys. You think a kid thinking about toys or playing outside with their friend is ready to have a kid just because he can ejaculate. That's why society disaproves it. I had sex at 12(althought it was not as pleasant) and I didn't know of any of this. I had to grow up and luckily I had my dad which explained me the risks in full, because he was young when he had me and explained how a kid can warp you life in such a state of chaos if you aren't prepared.

At 12-13 the body may be developing but the brain is not mature enough to make important decisions. Would you like to be a parent at 12-13 or have your 12-13 do so. It would be a child rearing a child.

Socially and mentally teens have started maturing much later. This trend has been going on for quite some time. Also while teen femals are technically ready, they could use afew years to really mature physically.

Then there are other factors, like our society associating love to sex and marriage - espcially the romantic version of marriage. An additional factor are the hormones that induce a feeling of "love" in the female after sex. These all add up to potential misunderstandings and problems.

Most 12 or 13 year old girls are not financially nor emotionally fit to have children. who will support these children?

Take a look at some third world countries, with girls this young having childen, they are living way below poverty level, in cardboard boxes, outside, picking at dump sites for food, and clothing. Is this your idea of a 12 or 13 year olds body being ready for children?

Society protects 12 and 13 year olds and its for a reason.

So they have time to figure **** out before they should start enjoying what their bodies are capable of. Just because a girl can bear a child at 13 doesn't in any way mean that they can handle raising a child, not in this day and age anyways.

my mom was 19 and my dad was 22 when i was born. because of their age, they were beyond unprepared to have a child, financially, emotionally, lack of responsibility, etc. we were dirt poor when i was a kid because of this. my mom had to drop out of college to take care of me. my dad could have retired from the military if he'd not had a son to hang around for. i've seen the same thing happen to a further degree... i've seen 16 and 17 year old girls drop out of high school so they could work full-time, dead-end jobs to support their children. besides that, there's the threat of STD's. the overwhelming majority of teenagers are unable to act responsibly when it comes to sex. how many women have i spoken to that said they wished they hadn't had sex when they were teenagers? emotional and psychological can be done, and usually does. even me, i wish i hadn't slept with girls when i was fourteen years old, but what's done is done. there's nothing i can do to change that.

and ''nature'' doesn't prepare girls' bodies by the age or 12 or 13; the hormones in the food we eat do that. if you want proof, take a look at girls that age in the philippines, where food isn't mass produced in the same way it is here. you'd be very surprised at the difference.

People used to die at age 30 or 40 and had to have children sooner in order to continue the race.

If you go even further back, to the very beginings of the human race, we only lived to about age 18 or so. Life was fast and violent.

People used to died in their 40s or 50s. People live into their 80s or 90s even 100 or over now. There is no rush to have children anymore. And personally I would hate for my son to get someone pregnant before he was 18 because I don't want to have to pay child support.

Well, society disproves of it because your still young. So baiscly, until 21 your brain isn't fully developed, your desision making ability is still being created. So, teen sex may mean your life could end at 17.
