If I buy a cell phone on ebay, and I am an existing verizon customer, how do I get service on it? Also, can I transfer my contacts from my old phone to the new one?

I am ex VZ employee and be real careful.
I was in Cust. Service and so many people did purchase and they would not activate.
So if you are successful here is what you do.
First get the back up assistant on your phone. That will allow you to transdfer the contacts.
The call VZ and give the Electronic Serial Number from the new phone so that they can transfer your number to that phone.Tell them you tried to do on line and it failed. That is important or they will wing you for a $20 fee. Be persistant.
Then when you completed the activation, you go to the back up assistant on the new phone and your contracts will transfer.
Be careful on E-bay lots of junk. Amazon never had a problem with a customer on the process that you plan to do.

If you get a phone branded to verizon and have a sim card, just slip your sim card into the new phone. If not then you have to call Verizon and give them all the info off the back of the phone, but is has to be compatible with verizon's system. If you have a sim card all of your contacts should also be transferred onto the new phone.
