People are conditioned to accept it, believe in it and even become attached to it in early childhood.
Our programmed defensive ego identity learns to "resist the world" in order to survive it, not grasping that reality mirrors mind and that we strengthen (make real) what we resist. We 'cause' evil to persist by resisting it (actively or passively) rather than healing it - through forgiveness (seeing the origin) and rational problem solving.
Why??? Because humans become easily attached/addicted to the 'resisting' (victimization) behavior as their only power.
Why??? Because the imprint occurs in early childhood when we actually ARE victims.

Strife is not essential to nor of life but the absence of life is essential for strife. In the condition that is strife, you must strive harder, work more to make the surviving gain. Evil is not an essential of life but evil is essentially against life. That is true contingent on evils description. I may say lions are evil for they want my young for food, but that is a different description different as a notion for a sentient being whose Judgment is as a matter of principle, or rule in its order opposed to humanity, identifies humanity as negative for its self.
The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

If we never had strife or evil in our lifetime, we would take for granted the "good life", never struggling or hurting to know and appreciate how wonderful goodness and happiness is. It would also make us lazy knowing we would always have great things happen to us, and as human beings, not help others in need of sadness or tragedy. Negative and positive are all part of life's experiences that teach us values; it is a way of keeping things in balance.

Interesting Question ,imagine yourself live in the " Utopia " - Republic of Virtue of Plato - would this being great ?
in my opinion we need to some of negative values - like evil - to appreciate positive values . example, we need to sadness to appreciate happiness, we need to disease to appreciate health , we need to small quarrel to appreciate the peace if we live in so perfect world then we will lose our value we will be live dead people.
To make my pointshort and more clear We need to negative values like evil and strife - as an exception to the rule - for provide us motivation for the development and reform of the world we must always strive for perfection without access .
Thanks yahoo

They are not essential. They are destructive. They are borne of minds that do not care for the rights of Man. Without these destructive obstacles to the forward movement of rational life, we would be free of the fear of them, and our intellectual and empirical lives would be more advanced.

It is necessary that humans have contrasting ideas in order to learn to make good choices. So we find the light is countered by the darkness, love is countered by hate, compassion is countered by indifference, being actively involved in the pursuit of life is countered by lethargy and depression and most importantly the pursuit of God (and its derivative "good") is countered by evil.

Life is a world of opposites, Life/death happy/sad good/evil, if we want one we need the other. Who would want a world that has no highs so their would be no lows.
