Born To Lead means one has the tendency to make decision for others. Taught To lead means that one was well, taught to help others make decision.
Both has its merits and demerits. Those born to lead, must be carefully not to become bossy and step back when needed. Give others a chance, afterall being a true leader not only make important decisions but also enable others. Those taught to lead usually are not frontal and like to work in the background. However, he/she must not forget that sometimes, as a leader we must step up and walk into the limelight.

they describe two paths to the same skill, for example:
general patton was a born leader
general montgomery was taught to lead
both were excellant generals both excellant leaders, both equal.
once you become a leader it is what you accomplish not how you got there.
adolph and george are both leaders adolph being the natural once again both equal

Taught
This is through the experiences in your life. Your environment and thge situations you are thrown in. But utlimetlely, it is up to you to take charge and try to lead. If you never through yourself out there, you will never become a leader.

I feel both are true,however generally it is more politically correct to say you can train yourself etc :) sad but true....
