Oh, and I must add: whatever I write or say is substantiated by proof.
I have a Byzantine enealogical tree drawn out since 1002. Laskaris Laskarithis.
Contrary to your belief also, I beleive in the 12 Gods very much. If you go back check some of our other answers, you'll find out that most of us attend to services and celebrations because we carry out our customs which have carried over and have been imbedded in Christianity from the ancient times. Like we have a wonderful dish at our dead's memorial called koliva which is the same like we had in ancient times for the dead and for te re-birth of nature.

Well, I just checked this on the internet. According to this statistic, the birthrate is 9.6/1000 every year
http://www.indexmundi.com/greece/birth_rate.html
According to this statistic, the deathrate is 10.33/1000 every year
http://www.indexmundi.com/greece/death_rate.html
So, yes the birthrate is lower than the deathrate and since Greece's population is about 10 million, this means that every year 10,000 more people are dying than are being born. So, in approximately 1,000 years (the year 3,000 A.D.) if this continues, the Greek population could theoretically cease to exist. However, the way we are treating our planet, with global warming, etc. Greece as a country could cease to exist well before then. They could all have to be evacuated to higher ground.
I do think that we have alot of other things to worry in the nearer future.
By the way, while the birthrate is low, it is not the lowest in the world. According to this
http://www.indexmundi.com/g/r.aspx?c=gr&v=25
Germany has a birthrate of 8.2/1000

The question of 'Who is a Greek" must be answered before one can delve into the mathematical hypotheses of extinction. If we take the ancient dictum " He/she, who has Greek education (Paedia) is Greek" then there is no reason to argue that by attrition alone the race will disappear.
If one is to examine one's genealogy today, I would rather doubt that the "purity" of the race can conclusively be established. Is Miltiadis Evert a Greek? How about Terrence Quick? And myriads of others like them.

The Greek culture will never cease to exist. Neither will the Greeks. Like the Hebrew, they will endure in Heaven forever.
Hallelujah.
----------------
While is was the Hebrew through whom God chose to teach the world about Himself through His Word and through His Messiah Jesus, it was the Greek language that God choose to publish the Gospel in written form to the rest of the world.

Cease to exist??? A lower birthrate does not mean a zero birthrate. Thus Greeks will not cease to exist. The population may not grow as fast as desired by the politicians and it might even decline. However, from this to ceasing to exist is a long shot.
