A good question, it deserves a star.
It's so much different when online to talk about one's personal life. A fake identity & one can talk their heart out.Feeling of security, secrecy is there & also no inhibitions since people may form any opinion of u, bad/ good, it is harmless. Also one has the power to pull out anytime a situation becomes uncontrollable or embarrassing. It does matter when one uses their genuine identity & photo & begins to disclose their whereabouts to strangers.
Whereas offline concerns their is limitation. Depends on the individual person u r talking with but even then that level of boldness is missing in me when offline with comparison to when online.

I don't talk much about my personal life online or offline. Probably more offline, b/c I'm more of a phone person, since I like 2-way conversation.
Everyone I know knows a different part of me... No one has all the pieces and secrets... I like it that way.

I am comfortable speaking about my personal life both online and offline...

I get a bit weary disclosing information that could potentially reveal my identity or the identity of a loved one...

But besides that...
There is no respectable question that I would not answer...
And answer completely...

I am happy with me...
And therefore happy to share myself with others...

I'm pretty comfortable telling me, for example on my profile that I have a mental illness etc, because I want to educate people and I don't care if people think I'm nuts since we're all nuts anyway in my opinion.
For more personal things I only tell trusted friends on and offline and family members of course.

♥ for the great questions.

It depends on who I am talking to....I sometimes find it easier online than offline.

In both cases, my comfort level is dependent upon with whom I am speaking.
