In the Christian religion, there will be a Judgment Day. God, on this day, will judge each man for his earthly behavior. Now, a man who has lived well all his life, given to the poor, respected his wife, adored his family, went to work each morning to earn a living for all that he loves......that man will be denied entry into the Gates of Heaven.

But the criminal who has killed little children, caused them to suffer by inflicting intolerable tortures upon them, causing them to bleed and cry for their mothers and scream in pain.....if that criminal laments his sins and vows allegiance to God, he is admitted through the Gates of Paradise.

Because, in the Bible, God is depicted as this jealous kind, demanding worship of his Being despite all efforts of any man or woman to live a good life.

In the way some folks view Christianity, God is not a nice person, not fair, not equitable, not kind, but a sort of snorting ogre, wrathful and angry. So perhaps this snorting God is laughing because the rich and dishonest folks are living in luxury while others are poor and living in misery. Perhaps, like many powerful people, he enjoys flexing his muscles and crowing over the struggling masses on earth.

Not necessarily true.
Check out the raging fires in CA and damage to the Hollywood rich and famous - maybe God is punishing them now in this life.

Because this world is worth nothing to GOD. According to Islam, GOD never looked at this world since HE created it.
In Islam, only the afterlife is where the good people get rewarded and the bad people get punished. But not just that, but a better question would be:

Why does GOD create people who are born blind, without limbs, insane,...etc? While at the same time most people are born in a good condition? What was the fault of these people in order to be born like that???

The answer is simple: Since this world equals zero, then there is no benefit from gaining it or losing it...simply calculated like this:

x + 0 = x - 0

The Prophet Muhammad says: "If this world was to GOD worth a mosquito's wing, HE would never have granted the infidel a cup of water [in this world]."

But only do infidels take a cup of water? In this world, infidels enjoy food, eyesight, drinks, hearing, happiness, euphoria, ecstasy, delight,...etc. But does that mean that GOD rewards the infidels for their blasphemies and sins? NO! Of course not! This world is only a test; an examination. The results are in the afterlife.

The Prophet Muhammad says: "GOD grants this world to whom HE loves and to whom HE doesn't love...but HE gives the everlasting pleasures of the afterlife ONLY to those HE loves."

This sounded very logical and fair to me. It was completely rational. When comparing these great sayings with what is said in the New Testament: " For GOD so loved the world..." etc, and with what the Jews believe in the neglect of the afterlife...I found myself inclined to change my religion from Judaism to Islam.

Yes! This was one of the many reasons why I decided to convert to Islam. This life is full of agonies, pain, boredom, stupidity, nonesense...you name it! This life is no more than a test from GOD. GOD is examining us how we will use our minds that HE granted to us: Shall we think about HIM? Shall we think how to please HIM? How could we believe in HIM the right way? and so on.

Well...I hope that GOD may grant us all good luck in order to pass safetly from this world and win the grace of being in the everlasting ever-increasing pleasures of Heavenly Paradise in the afterlife, Amen!

In my book, being rich is not a crime. Any 80 yrs old man would give up their fortune if they can trade places with an 8 year old orphan. So who is richer? The 8 yr old or the 80 yr old billionaire ?

If all you want are the rewards found in this life that's all you get...the Bible makes the point most clearly.

Edit--If you don't like the answers here, why don't you post this in religion where it belongs anyway...

If the people you are talking about have done something wrong then they will get what is coming to them. Everybody gets what is coming to them. You shall Reap what you sow. What you put out will come back to you. If you do good then good things will happen for if you do bad then bad things will happen to you. This is not to say that bad things don't happen to good people and good things don't happen to bad people. But ultimately you will get what is coming to you.

Being rich is not a blessing from God - if they are bad people , they are miserable with themsleves, and that is their punishment
