Yes, I did fear intimacy...
And perhaps, I still do fear certain aspects of it...
Intimacy is our guide to discovering the Self...
It generates life...
Fulfills fantasies...
Takes us on unfamiliar adventures of exciting emotions and sensations...all in a world that reveres security and stability...
Sex is the stimulator of intimacy...
It evokes the untold pieces of our stories...
Some pretty...
Others not so pretty...
So, our revulsion or unwillingness to be sexually transparent...
Is based on a fear to expose ourselves...
It inhibits us from discovering a self that is otherwise unattainable without a partner...
Over the years, I have overcome many of these obstacles...
Learning that...avoiding, denying, controlling or moralizing sex, is to squelch the Self at best...
