Take my experience from when my bird died.
When I was 10 and returned home from school he was lying at the bottom of his cage...I screamed and my mother rushed in to see what was wrong...then suddenly ran to the garage and back with a cloth soaked in gasoline...rubbed it around his beak and it jumped up and flew out of its cage all around the room but suddenly fell to the floor...I believe he ran outta gas.
