I believe that the main reason people are hesitant to defend their opinion is because they care too much about what other people think. The process of bandwagon entices them to go along with the crowd.

The first sentence makes sense. The second sentence needs some work...perhaps, "Their desire to be on the bandwagon entices them..."

First sentence is fine. Second sentence could perhaps be - The process of jumping on the bandwagon entices them to go along with the crowd.

I concur with the two answers given before me. You can also say: The bandwagon mentality entices them to go along with the crowd.

I agree with the first three answerers. You can also remove "I believe that" from the first sentence. It is probably assumed, and removing it will streamline your thoughts a bit.
