No, I do not care or worry what other people think. If I am barefoot it is because I want to be and because I like having bare feet, no one could convince me otherwise.
I like my feet being bare
What other people think I don't care.

When I was younger and didn't go out barefoot as often as I do now, I would definitely have felt embarrassed by being singled out like that. Even today, I don't particularly enjoy it, but most folks who know me realize that I go barefoot most of the time, so it's pretty much a non-issue. The remarks of passersby are frequently good-natured, and while I'd rather talk about something else, that's not a problem. I do find it annoying when people cast a disparaging look or remark in my direction as though going barefoot is an offense to modern civilization. But embarrassment? No, I wouldn't say I get embarrassed anymore. Once you're at peace with yourself, it's all good.

No, being barefoot is nothing to be embarrassed about. It's not dangerous, unhealthy or gross. Feet get very tough very quickly, our skin is made to keep pathogens out, and feet are fully washable. Sadly, a lot of people are biased against bare feet but I don't think there's anything more embarrassing about going barefoot than about being bare-handed or bare-headed. It's just more uncommon and it will cause comment but we shouldn't feel embarrassed by that.
