I am looking to purchase a handgun and learn how to fire it. My husband will teach me how to handle it. I believe it is my right to own a gun responsibly. I would not want to ever be at the mercy of someone who may decide to inf ring upon my freedom of the right to pursue, life, liberty, and happiness.

Well, fearing a gun is not rational...If some one wants to kill you and a gun is not available they will use a knife, if you make knives illegal, they will find a rope, if you make rope illegal...and so on.
...There has been zero murders in my state of Georgia this year committed by a legal owner of a gun.....so why take them away from responsible people who simply want to protect themselves and Not be a victim..... In Switzerland ever boy and girl of the age of 12 has to learn how to use a gun...and they have very little crime....Why because any would be criminal has to worry about his "victim" packing heat....
....look at our schools, for example. Everyone know that schools are sitting ducks, and look at all the killing sprees we have had lately!
....

We as American have a right to be armed no matter what the loony left says.

I listen to talk radio and I heard this only once, that the dems want to go after the guns by way of the ammunition, they feel they can get this through without anyone noticing.

This is their back *** way of saying we will be mommy and daddy to everyone. I say BS.

We the people have to get them out of power, all the dems want is to control our lives and give out an allowance, after all they do know how to spend OUR money better the we do right??? NOT

Maybe use tough love to help these poor victims.

Hold a gun to their head and say, "This is what happens when you give in to the terrorists. Now, go home and stop being such a Liberal bed-wetter."

P.S. A joke about how to distinguish a Liberal from a terrorist:

You see two similar people, dressed almost identically. You need to know who is the Liberal and who is the terrorist.

How do you do it?

Answer: hold a gun to their head, and then look down at their feet. The one with the yellow puddle forming is the Liberal.

Aside from my 47 years of membership in the NRA, my 18 years as a Hunter Safety Training Instructor and my 7 years with SWAT, I have taught my children and several of my grandchildren proper firearms safety techniques and I am rarely unarmed.

I live in the country, firearms are a way of life here. It's not uncommon for myself and my neighbors to take potshots at the armidillos, that left unchecked will root up your entire lawn. So I'd have to say nothing

I'm supporting the NRA to fight all the dems in congress that have this disorder....they feel that my guns will someday posses me and "make" me use them to commit a crime or worse....but what they are REALLY worried about is that huge army in this country that is a major road block to them for total takeover....lets see..it is estimated that 39% of Americans have a gun in their home...that works out to a one hundred seventeen million man army....yep, the dems have to do something about that......http://www.harrisinteractive.com/harris_poll/index.asp?PID=234

Well, I give both physical and emotional support to my boyfriend who loves to carry a small handgun (not concealed) at his side for self-defense purposes (we live in a fairly high crime area unfortunately). I've also discouraged my boyfriend from selling said gun, even though he needs the money right now while he looks for work, because I know it is important to him.
