The picture is this (http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/schrodingers-lolcat1.jpg)

I just don't get it. And apparently it's really funny. I must be dumb.

So, any idea? XD

Schrodingers cat, is a hypothetical experiment involving a cat in a box. The experiment itself comes in many forms, but basically it's saying that we don't know whether or not the cat is alive or dead unless we open the box. Until we open the box, the cat is existing in a state of being both dead and alive.

One version of the experiment: A cat is in a sealed box with a bowl of food. Poison sits above the food and will only be released when a radioactive substance (with a half life of 1 second) is no longer radioactive. Once the poison is released, the cat will eat the food and die. If the substance halfs, it will eventually have 1 radioactive particle left, meaning we don't know when this last partial will decay. Without opening the box, we don't know whether the cat is alive or dead.

That particular picture is either poorly worded, or they've decided their experiment involves the cat not being in the box and being in the box, as opposed to being alive and being dead. It's the same principal. You've received a box with 'one cat' written on it, but we don't know if there's a cat in the box unless we open it.

A cat shat in a box and is a slightly bit docile
therefore it is trying to hatch its own whoopsy ?

The joke is based on the "Schrödinger's cat" thought experiment, which speculates an esoteric physical state where a cat may be alive and dead at the same time.

well, if you're dumb, I'm dumb, cuz I have trouble understanding it as well. It's just a stupid joke, doesn't make you less smart not to understand it, don't listen to those people saying you're dumb.

My guess is that if it's a quantum box, you can't see what's in it (ok you can see the cat in the pic, but I don't know) so if the quantum box says "one cat", a cat could be in it, but it could as well not be. therefore it says "Maybe" in the right bottom corner. Just my idea, not sure.

Look at the expression on that cat's face . . . . whoever heard of being able to box a cat, anyway?

If having something depends on keeping a cat in a box, you're not going to have it for very long.
