When you go to the gynocologist and they do cultures what exactly does the cultures test look for? STD's? yeast? bacterial infections?

They can also send some of the urine off for culture if they are checking for infection of the bladder after they have asked you to give a sample of urine as part of the check in process.

Some of the bacterial infections they check for are Group B Strep, and bacterial vaginosis. Some cultures are used to check for STDs, and others for yeast like the most common kind of yeast infection caused by a yeast type called candida albicans.

I think they check for everything that can be detected by that sample.
