The problem with that idea is that you don't just pay income tax. You pay tax on every dollar you earn and spend. Your employer pays tax on every dollar they pay you. So, in order for that to do any good, you would have to stop earning and stop spending money. How do you propose to do that?

I think that high taxes are generally a good thing. It's bad when government leaders take too much money for themselves, but for the most part I'm optimistic about where taxes go in that they pay for important social programs such as welfare, schools and the upkeep of cities and roads. If you want to stop paying taxes how will your children become educated? Where will your garbage go? etc. Then again, I am Canadian. We deal with high taxes in order to support our somewhat socialist nation.

You've got to be kidding, right?
The IRS would do exactly what our Australian Taxation Office would do - haul you into the nearest court & shred the flesh from your bones - SLOWLY.

Just long enough to send armed stormtroopers to your adress
unless you got enough support to become the government,
then you would find people expect things they want for free
but somebody has to pay the bills so you have to tax them
somehow, and it all starts again.

Yes they'd listen. They'd have to listen to what you say when you are defending yourself in court and trying to justify why you should be allowed to stay out of jail if they want to put you there.

Of course not. They know we can't do whatever we want, they have ways of making us pay. Example, if we don't pay for healthcare they don't treat us, and we die lol. Believe me, they have no plans of losing their money and power anytime soon.

But you still want all the government services I suppose. Like defense, police, education, highways, water/sewer, trash pickup, fire protection, social security, someone to make sure your food isn't tainted, parks, recreation, someone to handle air traffic and security.
