The smallest town I ever lived in was Ellsinore, Missouri, in Carter County. At the time my husband and I moved there after he accepted a teaching job in the local high school, the population was around 349. Today, the population is around 363.
The most amazing statistic about this small town is that the school enrollment is close to 1,000!. There are only two schools in the county, and the majority of students arrive by bus.
