The laws were invented precisely for the safety of the citizens, the preservation of States, and the tranquility and happiness of human life and those that put statutes of this kind in force convinced their people that it was their intention to write down and put into effect such rules as, once accepted and adopted, would make possible for them an honourable and happy life. And when the rules are drawn up and put in force , it is clear that it is there as a law to serve its purpose.
Lawyers are there as their duty and obligation to serve and protect their clients. This is what i can say, the lawyer will present its case based on their strong evidences to convince the court in their favor and thereafter win the case of their clients.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

Hi Coin
The answer depends of which law do you reefer, ancient law, use by Greeks and Romans or modern law, which now we use, or what is call now a days by postmodern law.
Ancient law was a way of making a religion in the etymological sense of the word, was a way of making a bonding between all persons that conform a society.
Modern law was an instrument in which i could feel certainty of living in a society, as well others could feel certain that i will not harm them because i decided to restring my conduct
Postmodern law will tell you its just a discourse to control and have order in a determined society.
Now what do lawyers do? i suggest you check a essay of Dr Duncan Kennedy named "are lawyers really necessary? you can find it on the net

I hate politics too. But the fact of the matter is that politics, by definition, is the process by which a group or society delegates power and authority within that group or society.
Lawyers are there to make certain that all the I's are dotted and the t's are crossed. And they're expected to know enough about law and legal precedent that they can make a case for their client and present it to the jury.
It's the jury who have the final say.

The so called Law is written by and made for corrupt people. It is good for only one thing, helping criminals bet by with bloody murder. I may be alone in my ideas but I think America needs to stop coddling crooks and adopt some of the laws of the middle east.
A thief gets his hand cut off, and, if it was truly a just world, a rapist get there you know what cut off! That is just my theory but I believe there are a lot of rape victims who would agree with me.
No, I have never been raped. One time I was threatened with it. I was in high school and the guy grabbed my breast, when I dropped my fist and nearly caught him where he's most sensitive He told me he was going to have me whether I liked it or not.
I told him if he thought he was man enough to go ahead and try and then I let him know what would happen to hi if he succeeded and left me alive. He stayed clear of me after that and quite before the end of the school year.
There are worse things than death and that is one of them. I know your question wasn't on this topic, but it is relative.
Also, in the particular county I am from in Tennessee, my first boyfriend sold drugs for a living and he bought his supply out if the back door of the jail house. Police are a joke!

The purpose of the law is similar to the yellow lines on a highway. They were designed to keep you within a certain lane or course of actions.
But the law just like those double yellow lines are sometimes twisted by man and do not follow the intended path.

Law is to serve humanity. As long as law exists, people should be protected, and bad shouldn't be left unpunished.
That's to say law is not about self-interest. Though for lawyers clients are at first place, the safety of them and their interests.
Surely there are a lot of gaps, that allows these things happen as referred to, and that makes certain cases a bit unstable.

If you think that is bad, think of how bad things would be without any laws.
