I met my wife in china. Shortly after we got married, I had come back to the states to work. Now there is something makes me don't feel comfortable. My wife doesn't want people around her to know that she has married, she told me not to visit her at work when I go to china to see her this coming Dec. She also ask me to trust her. Now she still talks to her old boyfriend, she want me to understand that there is nothing between them, they are just friends... hell, that's not the girl I think I knew before, what should do? What does it mean?Please give me some suggestions. Thanks! jk

Sounds like she is ashamed of you because you are an American, if indeed you are an American you didn't say so I'm assuming you are. She knows people will look down on her for marring you. Remember we Americans are not well liked by anyone right now especially by China. Bad move on your part for marring someone from China. If i were you i would walk away from all the trouble you are going to have being married to her unless you really think she is worth it.

I have heard of situations where women become publicly humiliated for marrying a foreigner. I've heard of this happening in China, but I'm sure that China isn't the only country in the world where this happens. It could be that her family or co-workers do not accept you and it reflects poorly on her and she is embarrassed.

Tell her how you feel. Ask her how she would feel. Ask her to help you understand why because it doesn't make sense to you. Ask her why you can't visit her at work then do some research on their culture, maybe there is something in their culture about marrying a foreigner (like the first person who answered said). I don't know about your wife, but I have heard of some men who had a wife in a their own country and married another woman in the USA - I guess to get a green card.

I thank she dont want people knowing shes married because that would make her look loke a ho and everyone knows shes dating her exboy friend thats what I think
