Ok so I have been thinking about getting a breast reduction since I was in 8th grade. They just dont fit my body, i have always been kind of small. I have a 27 inch waist and a D chest. whenever I buy a bikini i have to get a XL top and S bottom, and the tops never look right. I hate them and in the military I have to run alot, and they hurt really bad. I am just really scared to get it done. I would never have a military doctor perform the surgery so i know that i could get a good doctor. Any advice on how to get over my fears? I have had a baby so I dont know why I am so afraid of the pain..

I had a breast reduction eight years ago..

First, make sure you use a really good doctor. That may seem obvious, but check with several different doctors and look at their before and afer photos of women that are about your size and getting reduced to what you want to be.

Just going from a D down shouldn't be too bad. I went from an I to a C. They took 10 pounds of chest tissue and ended up having to do some liposuction on the ribcage. But I was not petite like you. I was a large on the bottom and muumuu on the top.

It was worth it. Shin splints gone, back pain gone, finally clothes fit me right.

Now for the difficult part...... It took ten days before they could take out the drains. I had tubes coming out of the sides on both sides to a little bag that collected the fluids. I had to keep ice packs on my chest for six weeks. and in the end the scars are quite noticable. But now they have stuff to reduce scars. I also ended up with a section of dead tissue next to the right nipple. The doctor says it is nothing ot wory about, but will show up strange when I get a mammagram. There was also disconnection of the skin from the breast so it feels like my **** are wrapped in skin. If I pinch the skin on the underside it is obvious it is not attached to the bigger part of the breast. This area that seems to not be attached is also reduced in sensation. And the nipples are reduced in sensation.

Pain is the least of your worries. I am not trying to scare you away from getting it done. It is the best thing I ever did for myself, but I definately should have shopped around for a better doctor, I just went with the one reccommended by my GP.

The pain was not intense, but the lasting numbness is difficult to deal with.

I had NO PAIN with my recovery. People are different though. I know some who were in a lot of pain that needed their painkillers. I was only a little bit uncomfortable.

If you can handle childbirth, this is NO problem!

I had no drains put in, but I used Arnica Montana (from Amazon website) and it really helped with the swelling and bruising.

My scars are barely noticeable. I was a good patient, had a good surgeon, and I used Mederma and Scarguard.

Be sure you see at least THREE surgeons, preferably in your health care network, before deciding on someone to do your surgery.

I also regained nipple sensation within three months though some women take up to and over a year.

They key words to recovery with breast reduction is PATIENCE PATIENCE... don't fret because they are still swollen after a month or two, it takes time for you to heal.

I had mine reduced Feb 2006 (38J to 38C) and it was covered 100% by insurance.

Good luck with your journey!

Well you are a smart person soccerchic don't let the military doctors operate on you they dont know a thing. I would go for a proffesional. I could imagine how you feel when you say running. I run a lot to in the military and i have to admit i do have man tittys lol but i can imagine it being a scene for all the guys I am not a perv liket h rest so i don't bother to look. But to come over your fears just think to yourself how much better you would look think happy thoughts go to your happy place. Like wearing a dress or playing soccer or whatever makes you happy.

I know someone who got a breast reduction and it was absolutely fine. She looks great now!! Dont be afraid, doctors probably do these things ALL the time! Plus if you're in pain from them you probably should look into it. Hope I helped a bit! Good luck!

If you might have coverage and a health care provider can signal a type mentioning your breast measurement is meddling along with your wellbeing (inflicting backaches, and so on.) coverage might duvet a breast discount surgical procedure. ETA: Don't be troubled via the feedback approximately how you are supposedly egocentric for in need of a breast discount. Large breasts can intervene along with your lifestyles in a poor method. My ex sister-in-legislation had very massive breasts. She used to be a social employee for hospice care and used to be travelling and on her ft plenty and her best frame used to be so heavy it positioned plenty of stress on her again. She had a triumphant breast discount surgical procedure and she or he used to be competent to put on typical sized shirts once more and her again not pained her.
