It is the right to confront your accusers. The defendant gets to be there while people call him a creep.

I am assuming that you are referring to cross-examination. While the confrontation clause only expressly grants the defendant the right to be present during the testimony of the witnesses for the United States (and by incorporation any State's witnesses), the traditional interpretation of the confrontation clause has included the implied right to cross-examine such witnesses.

We all , that is P.B.R.( Prior to Bush Regime) Had the right to question there accuser . You should be told who has leveled What charges against you . We are guaranteed the right to counsel ( A Lawyer) to represent us. Oh ,, and a speedy trial (We can't be held more than 48 hrs without being charged with a crime and given access to a lawyer. Now I am all for catching those crazy a** terrorist and putting them away where they will never harm anyone! After 9-11 Bush took advantage of the fear, and the fear of being labeled "unpatriotic" to keep people from speaking up as he trampled on the rights promised EVERYONE under our Constitution, Which Bush referred to as "That God Dam* Piece of PAPER",. It is no secret (any more) that the U.S. Gov. is snatching ~suspected~terrorists and flying them to Sierra and other countries to be tortured , held for months even years without being charged or given a lawyer, there families have no idea where they are. Some of these men have later been found to be Innocent of any crimes and could have proved this had they not been denied of there rights, under the Geneva Convention, Which Bush changed the wording of so as to avoid being charged with violating its rules on torture.

This is the right to see who is accusing you of the crime, and for your attorney to ask them questions (cross examine). Unfortunately in this day of mafia and gangs, which the founding fathers could never have imagined, if you testify in a gang-related case your entire family can be murdered and you as well.
That's why they selectively allow people to secretly testify in some cases, to protect the lives of the witnesses. I have a good friend who used to date a judge in LA, and he'd regularly get death threats and have his house shot at any time he was involved in a gang-related case. Gangs need to be treated like invading foreign armies, not ordinary citizens who deserve constitutitional rights, because that's what they are.
