ive been told that a load of bands are playing manchester today and yesterday in pubs around manchester, just wondered if anyone had heard about this, if so where abouts are they?

yes, it is an event called 'in the city'. It happens every year and is for unsigned bands and music industry types. As far as I know it runs from Friday to Monday and there are bands playing all over the city.
