i just recently started watching anime and the only one i like so far is death note are ther any other animes that are like death note?

there are a lot of anime out there, also great but not the same story line as death note
try gensomaden saiyuki, fushigi yuugi, slamdunk, bleach, naruto

You can always try Naruto, Bleach, and those others mentioned above. They are immensely popular. But they aren't for everyone (they weren't for me), and they definitely aren't similar to Death Note (other than that they are all anime...).
If you want more anime that gives off a simliar feel to Death Note, try the following:
-Code Geass

yeah, "jigoku shoujo" is very similar to death note!
