I think they are... I guess my question really is, what can the majority of Americans do about this disastrous influence on the way their country is run?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_jones

If you can, try and watch the film "Jonestown: Paradise Lost"... see if you can't see any similarity between the zealots who followed Jones to the end, and those who continue to go to bat for George Bush, despite his proven crimes, lies, and the obvious harm he has done to America and the world.

I am not debating whether Bush is good or bad, for the USA and the world, anyone with eyes and ears can see that the Constitution has been buried, as has been the Bill of Rights... the rule of law no longer applies, it is tyrannical rule... the Treasury is bankrupt and the military is stretched beyond its limits, while the infrastructure at home (roads, bridges, etc.) erodes, the education system is failing (see Miss South Carolina lately?), social programs eroded (the reason for a government) while war-profiteers like Haliburton and Blackwell corp. run laughing to the bank... Haliburton even moving its head office to the Middle East to avoid paying any taxes in the U.S., when U.S. tax-payers are its main source of revenue in the first place....

My question is how do we get back a government by the people for the people?

To all Bushbots who are in a frenzy, attacking me and me question...

My question is not addressed to you. You are in a slim minority of Americans, and you know it. Saddam Hussein also ruled his country for decades backed by a minority like you... my question is addressed to decent, law-abiding American citizens, who outnumber the Bushots by three to one.

How do you get your country back from these rabid, fearful, hateful goons?

2007-10-20 21:27:40 · update #2

correction: I said corporations like "Blackwell." Of course I meant the mercenary company Blackwater.
Kenneth Blackwell, the Republican appointed (not elected) election officer for Ohio, was one of the goons who helped rig the 2004 Bush "re-election."

I will not waste my time. "True Believers" are impervious to facts, anyhow. Read my other answers and questions if you are really curious, which I doubt you are.

My question, once again, is 'How do we, the people, get back control of the government, from a minority of brain-washed, fearful, and dangerously ignorant group of people who have somehow managed to hijack democracy in the USA?

No small, order, I admit.

I never fail to be surprised at how one posting logical questions are ruthlessly attacked by those on the right here and elsewhere rather than debated.

You ask what we can do? Sometimes I, as a political activist,
agree with some of my peers that it is already too late. Maybe this is why they are so blatant lately..they know they control the media, the vote, and have everything in place.

However, one must also look to Gandhi's quote..first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

As I was highly involved and very knowledgeable of the massive election fraud in Ohio and attended nearly all grassroots efforts to investigate, get this info out and inform others etc including being in Washington on the day of the historic election challenge, January 6th, 2005, with other Ohioans where we protested, were in congress observing, did a national press conference and lobbied senators after getting this info all the way from the grassroots into the congressional record via John Conyers report --"what went wrong in Ohio), we are still plugging away, studying those elections records that were not thrown away despite court order (over 50 of the 88 counties threw away the evidence--election records) , having voting conferences (one next week) and seeing movies that we and people we know are the stars of about the 2004 election (saw this Tuesday) .

As we fought to let the world know what happened here in Ohio in regards to the election, we saw Gandhi's quote unfold before our eyes....we were first ignored then when we become too vocal and would not go away, we were laughed at, and mocked in republic papers and called conspiracy theorists and nuts, now we are still here but being fought with spying and infiltration of groups and development of microwave weapons to use on us, ignored in the media and or ads refused, our progressive radio taken away nationwide, people were put in free speech zones and .attacked by police (like the grandma beat up in Cleveland by 5 cops one saying I am sick of this anti-bush crap (he used the cuss word) as he and 4 other men kicked her as she lay slammed on the ground, and other means.

If we are now being fought and I believe the 2006 election (which we found here in Ohio more fraud than in 2004) was rigged to allow democrats to win to try to make us feel there was not fraud so we would back off as too many were learning of it despite media silence).

But we will not forget or get over losing our democracy and ability to decide who wins democratically and to pass or not pass state issues by shining a light in the wrongness of using partisan voting companies that use secret software that makes fraud undetectable and hire convicted felons in computer fraud.. We have just began to fight as we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that our elections are as fake as those in the Ukraine but our exit polls vast descepencies are ignored unlike theirs.

Here in the city, when the new national voting rights movement began, Columbus, Ohio, we plan to hold a funeral protest for democracy on Nov 2nd 2007 to commemorate and remind people of that tragic day when they, the Bush administration and its voting machine friends and the infamous Blackwell,. came in illegally and stole the election and with it were able to appoint new supreme court justices to uphold their election fraud as the stacked Ohio courts did when we filed lawsuits like Moss v Bush on behalf of disenfranchised Ohio voters...with them frauulently installed into power, and with it all the things they have done to ruin our country some of which you mentioned above,.

Without the vote counting, there is no oversight and no democracy. On that, we need to fight for hand counted paper ballots..go to the polls election day and hold signs up about vote fraud and the need for hand counted at the precinct paper ballots to restore votes and voter confidence as 75% of dems do not believe their vote counts and 50% of independents and even 25% of reps. There is little voter confidence and so even few will vote now that they feel it does not count. Contact your congressperson and request they cosponsor and support Dennis Kuncinich's bill HB 6200 which requires all presidential elections to be held on hand counted at the precinct paper ballots and make election day a holiday..once that passes we can try to get it amended to include all high offices and statewide ballots..

I see just a handful of citizens actively fighting to change it in a sea of apathetic and deluded and asleep Americans and it is disheartening..but remember what Margaret Meade said
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. as we look around to our small group of activists, I see great passion and fire and commitment to change.

I suggest backing Dennis Kucinich in the primary and campaigning for him..he has proved to be incorruptible and a man of the people on the right side of nearly every issue..even though he does not have a chance, the more people that know about him and his issue positions and who see what we might have, the more people who will raise their sites on what they ill settle for and the more people who will work to bring it about,.

,I am an activist because of Dennis and I know I am not the only one. we must bring others into activism by finding groups of like minded people in our community..search progressive groups and find some in your areas..start making calendars listing all the things going on in your community concerning progressive topics like health care, antiwar, poverty, global warming etc and start going to these events making connections with other like minded people..figure out a place for these progressives to meet monthly and have a potluck get together with speakers if possible or movies to draw them in..get contact lists of people and when event come to be protested or things needing to be done send out the info to your email list..bring about connections and involve people in the various works in order to increase your numbers and make connections among people on the left who are interested in some or most of these topics..then brainstorm ways to be visible, get together groups to lobby your state and local politicians, start emailing politicians on issues and sending papers to the editor in groups, protest together...then try to connect with groups like this in other states.

One way to do this is join national groups or see if there are ones in your areas already started..go there and get involved and invite them to your potluck and events..groups like the world cant wait or troops out now or move on..get on their email lists they will tell you about events and projects for you to get involved. Keep talking to people and trying to change their views. I feel one way is to start talking to people on the Christian right..see this answer what I wrote and use these talking points with people who are Christians trying to change how they think as I feel Christians are a big voting block but if the vote does not count, what good is it to change their view. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArFaDtLjd9Hu4sNyxEBviHHty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071013215950AAnbmuI

If we cannot get real elections that are hard to cheat on here, we are likely doomed to have them keep putting who they want in there..we also need to break this two party thing where both parties are really run by the rich and corporations and TPTB..

The only other ways I can think of is by protesting and mass petitions and such and succeeding in gaining media attention and also in organized boycotts...this is where it is helpful to join with other local, state and national progressive groups to spread the ideas quickly through one's email lists and through the internet..our money (and cheap labor and such) is the only reason they need us and if we break them on their bottom line by boycotts, we may get their attention...see how effective Michael Moore uses the techniques of shameand the media and getting what they do out to the public and this shows how awful and tarnished what they do is and often results in them voluntarily changing policies like stop testing products on people, cheating people with medical insurance, and polluting the earth and hurting people's health with dangerous chemicals and practices.

They are ways to help but they (TPTB) have huge amounts of power but remember the power of the " people united can never be defeated "and so we have to mobilize and involve others and change views one person at a time and eventually we will have the active army we need to reverse the evil of the generation..just the fact that Bush's popularity is only 30% says a lot.

It is hard to defeat them as they always walk in lockstep, do not question, and do not splinter into 3rd parties..we need runoff voting too so third parties can grow without hurting those on the left by throwing away their vote to the right..but still the vote needs to count..

I think the more we let them get away with and do nothing the more they will risk as they figure no-one cares enough to really challenge us..

A few ways to help are joining with other local progressives in local, state, and national groups and politics

2. working to inform others of massive vote fraud and the dangers of electronic voting and to get people to support the paper ballot bill HB 6200 and working on vote fraud

3. organizing economic boycotts of select targeted companies like a specific oil company..everyone boycott for a year and also boycott a different companies each month so no-one company feels safe and this shows that while we still need oil, maybe YOUR company will be the one we run out of business with our boycott and this whips the others in shape through fear of the people not spending their money there

4. we must develop independent media and radio shows beholden to no-one unlike Air America's clear channel.and inform people of what is going on and how they may help. Knowledge is power and after Ohio went blue, they took away our progressive radio almost immediately.

5. we must also be visible in the streets and by contacting representatives in mass and putting on the pressure. I think a National group not willing to back down or bow to fear is the world cant wait. keep up to date on their projects and protests. search the internet for them.

we have everything to lose by doing nothing..we must fight for our children, ourselves, the world. and future generations..we are the ones and we dare not be silent. and go quietly as they turn our country to fascism and enrich the rich at everyone else's expense and pollute the earth and rob our treasury. Now is the time we all need to get involved..God help us if we do not at least try,.

WE ARE THE CHANGE WE WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD (so let us begin)

Well I would say that I agree with you and that I see that the Bushies have posted and ganged up on you. Bush will die someday as we all do and eventually will burn in hell for his crimes, greed, deceptions and etc. but until then we the decent working class of Americans (not you rich assholes) need to show these idiots both democrats and republicans that we will not tolerate our country being destroyed by the greedy corporate elite nor the crooked politicians. Bush and personell lied to invade Iraq, his whole administration has been way too damn secretive yet he has allowed unfettered spying on Americans through e-mails, phone calls, mail, etc. and I can sit hear and continue the list but whats the use, people in this country are either controlled by prozac, paxil, the media, and down right lies by your great government. I guess the quote is "If a society has to give up it's freddoms for safety, that society deserves neither" Quoted by Ben Franklin. Another quote from a good man would be " the word secrecy in a government is repugnant and very dangerous as their is no checks and balances in the system that way-quoted by JFK. America is in a downward spiral and sooner or later, the Blackwater mercenaries will be detaining American citizens like you Bush believers. By then the government will have taken ALL your liberties, guns, jobs because they now have illegals to work for $2.00 an hour and with no benefits and there is nothing you will be able to do about it!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA

Question: If President Bush and people in his administration violated the Constitution and committed murder, killing 1.8 million innocent Iraqi lives, would you Americans NOT feel sorry for the innocent souls that died?

If President Bush and his administration were truly guilty and abused the US Constitution, would you not want to see correction done to set right your nation?

These are the questions that I would ask of you. If such had happened, would you not want to see correction?

If you go along with the Bush administration, then one day soon you will find yourselves doing in and killing honest Americans who love the true god and are fighting for their very lives for honesty and truth. Would you then kill truth seekers? On Bush administration's path, this is what it will lead you up to.

Comparing a US President to Jim Jones? Please be more specific as to which crimes GW has committed. As far as the harm done to America and the rest of the world, numerous attacks on US Soil have been thwarted since 9/11. If you look for bad you will find bad. If you look for good you will find good.

The answer is obviously no, and your facts are incorrect, and the comparison erroneous.

I go to bat for George Bush because I analyze things, including our enemies.

And what proven crimes?

Edit:
You already have a nation by and for the people. Bush was elected by the people of the United States Of America.
