Whenever I take the subway, I'd be sitting between two dudes who can't seem to keep their thighs together! Both would sit with their legs splayed open and I would feel bloody trapped and have to cross my legs... Why can't guys sit decently and spare us this discomfort?!

Even though I'm a female, I do not like crossing my legs. I just sit in a regular sitting position, keeping within my personal space and place my feet firmly onto the floor! I'm all for being comfortable, but people should practice courtesy.

yes. some even swing their legs side to side, it's annoying. i even had one experience about this guy who sat in front of me who almost occupied the seat he is sitting because his legs were so spread widely as if his eggs would crack should he move his legs a bit closer to each other

Well for a guy to keep his legs closed takes muscle tension and not very comfortable. Relaxed thigh muscles tends to let the legs open. There is also other appendages that insist for room between the thighs. If they sprawl their legs all the way open they are just inconsiderate.
Guys are just barbaric.

i give people as much room as i can but guys legs just do as close together, past a certain point i have constantly force my legs to not spread apart, i pretty sure its more discomfort than you feel since women cross their legs quite often. its just how our legs naturally sit without thinking about it.

I can't keep my legs closed tight, there something bothering me.I wonder what it might be. No, really, guys can't just sit with their legs tight. Try it and there's something that forces you to open them. I'm not saying we have to have them spread like a turkey but we can't keep them close very together.

As a female, you wil have an easier time keeping your legs in that position. Not to go into details, but when a guy sits all scrunched up it feels weird. But in all politeness, you could ask one of them if he could please "scooth over a little" and it might help. They don't realise they are invading space probably. (lets face it- when it comes to definitions of these things, we actually ARE martians.)
