he wants to leave but still has hope that things are going to change and life is going to get better, this is the time when u really need to start communicating, this is a cry for help and this is when u can change it and restore the marriage. if u heed this warning it could be a divorce, and he will leave. find out what is hurting him, he will need to feel u won't attack him when he voices what is hurting him, and u can shut him down real fast if the communication starts off on the wrong foot.

First of all, ask him why he thinks he wants a divorce, he is obviously unhappy about something and you should have a long talk about it. Him asking if you want to go out is just a diversion from the real issue. Try to get to the bottom of why he wants out, then maybe seek couples counselling.

No, it sounds like he is trying to feel something. Maybe he is trying to generate some "OH MY GOD DON'T LEAVE ME" passion...
You guys need to talk, or have sex...or go on a vacation...sounds to me like he is fed up and you need to find out why.

Trust that he wants to leave. He's just scared and wants to hold on to the family part. Be careful. He'll use that and then give you signs he wants back in...and when you let him back in, he'll want to leave.
