Every single evening, broadband disappears, a couple of older crt tv's develop a slowly scrolling line and odd noises are heard on some of the house appliances. Every morning the problem goes away. This seems to be around the time of street lights switching on and off - it's as if the lights are somehow affecting the power lines and the broadband. The phone works fine.
We have tried new filters, wired and wireless modems, had the electrics checked, used laptops and desktops and tried a laptop with the house power completely switched off.
All this started last April and everything was fine for years before this. Nothing has changed in the house and nothing comes on or off in the house at the times of the problem.
Does anyone know how power and broadband can be affected by street lights - and is there a solution?
thanks

If the broadband disappears contact your broadband supplier. Gice them all the details you have, once they find source hopefully the other problems will go too. THEY cannot help with the TV, but the broadband IS their problem, so let THEM work on finding a solution

If you are on a wireless broadband then it could be effected by the street lights. In some areas the lights are turned on by a radio signal and this could be picked up in your house.

contact whatever company you have for power such as PGE etc explain to them just what you told us here,
my next door neighbor is PGE man and says possibly you have a transformer that surges at night and is causing this problem.
