Why hasn't anyone said that dolphins are fish and mammal; depending on the individuals you are seeing? (E.g. Mahimahi=dolphin, a fish; Bottle-nosed dolphin= a mammal). Porpoises are always mammal.

They are different species. A porpoise is mammal, and a dolphin is a fish also known as the Mahi-mahi.
