My reaction I was 1 year old in 1939.
I wonder "Did the End Justify the Means"?
That question will be debated forever with Pros and Cons for the Project.

1 Any American alive at the time is extremely grateful for its success in ending WW II in the manner it did, thus saving hundreds of thousands of lives on both sides.
2 Some questions are raised about the power of the government during war,seeing as how Truman didn't even know about it when he became president. What has the government\military been doing that we don't know, or even Congress might not know.

I don't like that it was used for warfare.

I want nuclear energy used for peaceful purposes, like medicine.
