As a singer, I'd choose Waylon. As a song-writer, Willie.
Perhaps only Bob Dylan or Kris Kristopherson have written as many huge hits as Willie.
I can sing either voice respectably, and kiddingly do a "duet by myself" of Merle and Willie for "Pancho and Lefty" that gets decent attention ffrm my audiences.

Oh yea, useful have heard of those men...i've got have been given an autographed reproduction of "words COME undemanding" i merely love that music..did you realize that they began off their careers via making a music returned up for MARTY ROBBINS on EL PASO and on on a pair of CLAUDE KINGS songs?..TOMPALL, CHUCK AND JIM.
