I agree with 80's Queen and Shari, it doesn't work out, one party usually starts feeling romantic attachments to the other, especially if they are vulnerable emotionally. They start seeing things that draw them to the other person and BAM! no longer feeling like a friend but wanting something more, and you can't go back again. I have never seen it work out that a man and woman can be "just friends" .

Well, since our body acts on bodily chemicals, depend, if this two, men and a women they show matching chemistry, things are a little complicated, than it is very hard to be just Platonic friends.

I agree with Webby...that is what I was gona say...she beat me to it...AGAIN!
but ya, I do believe in friendship between men and women.
EDIT
I was reading Marty, Shari and 80's comments...I disagree...most of my friends in college and work were guys and although sometimes we would feel a certain attraction (like a crush)...but if you ignore that feeling everything will be ok and you can keep your friend

I've really tried to have guy friends, but to tell you the truth, one of us crosses the line, feelings develop, I have never known anybody this did not happen too, even when people think they can handle it. It creates too many problems. Any guy friends I have currently are the boyfriends of my friends, and they do not come any closer. I don't even bother having lone guy friends anymore.

I totally believe in a friendship between men and women, BUT: they need to be mature enough to accept that sex might cross their mind in certain situations but there is no need to act on it.

well, i never had a guy friend who didnt start thinking we could become more than friends..
so it is possible i guess, but as u see in the movies lol and by my experiences i think it would be rather difficult, at least if they are both straight

Honestly I think thats only possible to an extent.............a man and woman can only be (I should say a male and female actually) friends for so long.........
there is always some sexual tention that attacks the relationship/friendship.

Well, well... I believe it possible if each one keeps their perspectives right... one of my best friends is a man...and it's not my husband...unless you t think that Aussie doesn't count... (no offense, please... Mwah!)
But I agree... you've got to be mature enough or try to be.
