i turned a record of swan lake into an mp3 file, i listen to it in itunes but it goes for about 25 mins. i would like to split it into small parts, one for each little dance in the performance. there are breaks of a few seconds in between them, and i know where they all end and start so i just need to be able to do this. i have a mac, can i do it on garage band? thank you, and i hope that made sense.

you can either use a wave editor (or song editor, w/e you wanna call it) and then export it as separate files (ie. cut the file into two and then cut and paste one of the parts and save it as another file)
an alternative to splitting a file is to compress it. there are music compressors on the internet that you can easily get for free
