And if so, do you believe it has anything to do with white supremacy?

What about those doll tests where children choose white dolls over black dolls? Hair straighteners? Whitening creams?

I do believe that there is a set standard of beauty, but not just in the United States, rather, in the world. Each country has a different variation, of course, but human are naturally predisposed to a uniform idea of what beauty is. I think on some levels it does certainly have to do with white supremacy... for instance, black men and women are considered more attractive if they have smaller lips and smaller noses than the rest of their race, but you must keep in mind that this is not necessarily the doing of white people, as Africans have the same qualms with their race. Instead, I think it is the influence of white people, rather than racist rhetoric.

Of course there is a standard of beauty. In every culture there are things that are considered beautiful and ungly. Magazines/movies/TV are setting the cultural standard here in the United States. But it does not have to do with white supremacy.

Yes...but actually they all kind of look and act the same but it's not just white-----from all colors, latina, blacks, whites, asians. Those on TV and also in real life, this certain standard are kind of annoying. They look very self-conscious about beauty, beauty, beauty that it is not beautiful in the end. I like spontaneous beauty better---a woman who is both pretty with an aura of being a simple, kind hearted human being----not the annoying glamorous stereotype. Take for instance Hilary Swank----I find her very beautiful. There is something about her that is unique and beauty of her own.

I do not believe that there is any set standard for beauty in the US today because beauty only exists in the eyes of the beholder...the person who sees the beauty may be the only person who views that person as a beauty or as an object of beauty...White supremacy today I do believe is a thing of the past because the white race today is in the minority. Thus we return to Beauty is ONLY in the eyes of the beholder of the object of beauty or person of beauty...Beauty is to behold not to be a standard! Everyone has the same potential for beauty in as much as beauty really comes from within us all...God put it there for all to enjoy...it is only our job to find it within ourselves!

yes i believe there is a set standard of beauty in the u.s but i really dont think it has anything to do with white supremacy...look at tyra banks, or that kimora woman or whatever....they arent white, and they are absolutely beautiful, not only in my eyes, but in the eyes of ALL their fans, and im sure they have ALOT of those. but i really think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what one person likes is the same thing that another hates, it all depends on the person really.

This is a country that has embraced Halle Barry as a gorgeous woman. And she is no aryan.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally like latinos, even though I'm of english/german/dutch descent.
