That is too bad someone would be that judgemental. I thought that is why you ask questions, to get answered and not be judged. Maybe it just makes them feel good and smart about themselves to judge and put someone else down. I would just feel sorry for them and don't be too offended by what they say.

A question should have a background of a true need, not based on screaming ignorance. While you might very well consider some question to be answered in a judgmental fashion, the question probably fosters that response. It is a bit exasperating for someone to ask a question that appears to be a quest for "please do my home work for me so that I can do something else". The something else is generally thought to be some kind of activity other than the school work at hand. While I realize that ferreting out out an answer could be time consuming, "you" are the one who is in school, not some of those who are here to answer questions. Some questions are so basic one has to wonder what the ask er has been taught in school, or are they just floating through and paying no attention what so ever. If you are really stumped, ask, if it is "gee, my game is getting really interesting, but I have this school thing to do, let's see if I can get someone to answer it, and I'll just write in the answer, and continue on with my other activity", then any judgment that seems to come your way is most likely justified.
It isn't bitterness, it is more the desire that "you" do your own work, on your own, unless you have simply run into a problem that you can not figure out. Real ignorance is one thing, laziness is something else again. There are people here who really know what they are doing, and can be great mentors, for those who need real help. We are established in life, and have a desire to assist, but not do your work for you.

A lot of the time people will take out their anger and frustration on other people.
-This isn't just on yahoo but everywhere.
It can be thousands of reasons, ignorance, spite, arrogance so on.
e.g If someone said the world was flat I'm sure many people would get offended even though it was an honest question.
People also need an enemy, human beings in general try to find an enemy to feel safe, in this case it's the people that offend the questionnaire's and they are ridiculed for doing so.
In general humanity will always try find an enemy, either it's political, social. historical and so forth.
I personally don't think people truly mean to offend on purpose and if they did then it's more to their upbringing than full tolerance.

Being rude over an honestly asked question is just silly. If you didn't need an answer or help, you would not have wasted the time to post it. It is like thumping their chests, so to speak, and is arrogance, as much as anything else.
I may tease someone over their spelling, but not rudely, and not with out my best attempt to answer the question.

There is no personal connection, so they don't have to look into your eyes and see the hurt. People are braver and less friendly when they are protected by anonimity. Filter through the people who answer for points, and just to spew out their frustrations on the world, there are plenty of good and well meaning people out there. They generally are doing other things than sitting down at a computer and helping strangers on line. keep your chin up.

Because this is a public forum and as such any one can answer to what you post. This is not a good place to be if your feelings are easily hurt or you are offended by insensitive remarks. Ignore the persons who want to display their ignorance to the world and focus on the answers that are the most sincere and helpful.

It's sometimes according to the way of the question is asked! In general, I take as a genuine request or I skip rather than hurt! Take care!

honestly, I think it is because there are a lot of mean spirited people out there who would never have the guts to talk like that to somebody to their face, so they come here so they can make smart *** remarks and not have to answer for them. If you notice, most of these people have blocked their email address from public view. Such cowards.

some people just like to trash on others, it makes them feel superior. i haven't had any serious problems on yahoo answers. maybe the topic you asked questions about was inflammatory? i never ask about religion, talk politics, or inflammatory questions about abortion, or gay / lesbian, etc. what were you needing to know? maybe you can get some honest help now.

They want points. They have no life. Rude is their shallow existence. Take your pick.
People are rude and mean. Not good, but factual.
I'm sorry to break it to you. I mean no disrespect. Just get used to it. Hope for no more.
