I am good in mathematics and have a post graduate engineering degree. Please suggest me a research topic in mathematics where I can research on my own during my spare time and publish papers.

You may go ahead with a research on zero!

I can give you a hint'

People regard zero was known and used by ancient Indians long ago! You have to logically conclude has anything like that has taken place and if so how?

A possibility to ancient Indian zero evolution is that instead of 'a direct one to one count used by people' they could have used before-units count (One, two and three have respective before units 0,1 and 2) which is technically digital number logic applied by modern computers!

Your research shall reveal if Vedic Mathematics do relate step by step digital numbers! Vedic Maths is almost a public awareness now and if you need help please contact!

Please try!

Regards!

Wow, glad to hear that. There are plenty of areas in Math with open problems and conjectures. My favorite being Number Theory and working with Prime Numbers. But you are probably looking for some applied math stuff. I would recommend numerical analysis. You know figuring out faster and better ways to find roots of equations, integration, differentiation, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, solutions to ordinary and partial differential equations. Numerical solutions to PDE is the best probably out of all of these. Optimization problems and algorithms are much in demand. Statistics and regression analysis are what private industries are looking for. Cellular Automata and modeling things like traffic to predict traffic jams is awesome.

1-To find a common solution for all differential equations.

If you can not find , you will publish all your works as a book.

2-Try to find solutions to unsolved math problems.
